I’m a one-person business based in Bath, dyeing yarn and designing and editing knitting patterns for hand knitters. I also hand-process and spin fibre to commission (using a manual drum carder and spinning wheel).
I’m committed to working as locally as possible. I have two ranges of yarn that are from fibres sourced from North Somerset and spun in the UK, which I dye in my home studio. I offer a naturally-dyed selection of yarn, using plants from my garden, foraged locally and saved from the kitchen. I occasionally design and knit garments to commission, using local wool and alpaca yarns.
Some of my processes are shown on my YouTube channel, where I hope to share my work and foster an appreciation for slightly slower and more seasonal craft.
I’m keen to be involved in all facets of the local fibre industry and am most interested in creating end-to-end traceable products. I like to create on a smaller, slower scale and work with other people in the area to focus on ‘conscious consumption’ – reducing the environmental impact of our garments and textiles by minimising waste in every sense possible.
We are starting the conversation about how the South West can produce more home-grown textiles and garments in a more healthy, resilient and regenerative textile ecosystem.
